Matoni Angus was founded by Andrew Brownlie in 2001 and is run on the property 'Matoni' 50km west of Armidale in the northern tablelands of NSW. We are a family run business with the stud run in conjunction with a high quality commercial angus herd on two properties. Commercial calves are born and weaned on Matoni and shifted to our property north of Inverell, 'Forest Vale', where the calves are grown out as feeders.
Our foundation cows included animals from Booragul, Te Mania, Booroomooka and Bald Blair Angus. Artificial Insemination and embryo transfer have allowed genetic progress to be made quickly.
We've had a strong focus on maintaining above average carcase attributes in the herd which makes our cattle versatile to a range of beef markets.
